Everton have received a major boost in their pursuit of Jack Grealish, as the Manchester City star seems to have fallen out of favor with Pep Guardiola this season.

Earlier, reports from Daily Mail Sport revealed that Fenerbahce had their ambitious move for the England international rejected. Now, Everton have made their move, inquiring about the possibility of securing Grealish on a season-long loan. The talented winger, who earns around £300,000 a week at City, would be a marquee signing for the Merseyside club as they prepare to move into their new stadium.

Sources close to the situation believe that any potential transfer may not materialize until late in the transfer window, as interest from other clubs has yet to fully develop. If Everton can convince Grealish to make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock, it would be a massive statement by the club’s new owners, the Friedkin Group.

Everton’s manager, David Moyes, has been vocal about his admiration for Grealish, even calling him “probably the best player in the Premier League” back in 2021. While Grealish has plenty of suitors, including Bayern Munich and Newcastle United, there’s uncertainty surrounding which clubs will make formal offers. The winger, who was excluded from City’s Club World Cup squad, is eager to regain his place in the England squad ahead of next year’s World Cup, which could influence his decision.

Grealish joined City for a British record £100m in 2021, and his contract runs until 2027. However, he has not featured in City’s pre-season friendlies, including their recent 1-0 win over Preston North End. With City’s plans for him unclear, the 29-year-old is expected to miss their upcoming friendly against Palermo, further signaling his likely departure.

With a number of clubs circling, this could be the summer that Jack Grealish makes a major move, and Everton could be the club to secure his signature.
